The 2012 Carolyn Pearsall White Community Impact Grant Program strengthens the ability of local, charitable organizations to address critical community needs and make a lasting impact on our region. Financial and in-kind awards support organization’s wishing to launch an innovative, new program or expand an existing, successful program.

Program Description 

The CFNRV seeks projects that:

  • Strengthen the organization’s capacity to meet current and future needs,
  • Can be sustained beyond the CFNRV’s initial funding to ensure long term impact, and
  • Pursue creative collaborations to leverage the skills, services and time of NRV individuals and organizations for community benefit.

 Community Impact Grant recipients will be awarded:

  • $10,000 over a period of three years: Up to $5,000 in year 1, $3,000 in year 2, and $2,000 in year 3
  • Up to 10 hours of in-kind services per year provided by CFNRV Fellows, local professionals with expertise in areas such as:
  • Strategic Planning & Facilitation
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Graphic Design
  • Leadership Development
  • Grantwriting
  • Volunteer Management
  • Fundraising Assistance

The Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP) is funded with donations to the Andy & Susan Morikawa Capacity Building Fund, and is made possible in 2012 with the generous support of Carolyn Pearsall White.


How to Apply

The CIGP application process includes several distinct steps:

  1. Complete and submit the Intent to Apply Form – This short form provides the CFNRV with a general overview of your proposed project. The CFNRV will then invite select organizations to submit a full application.
  1. Submit a Full Grant Application at the invitation of the CFNRV – The CFNRV will accept full applications only from those expressly invited to apply based on the intent to apply form review.
  1. Have a Conversation of Intent with CFNRV – Applicants meet with the CFNRV staff and/or members of the Distribution Committee to answer questions and expand upon their application materials.
  1. Receive a Notification of Decision letter from the CFNRV – All applicants will receive notification of the CFNRV’s final decision.
