Connecting You to Your Community

NRV Livability Initiative Kick-Off Summit

Join us to celebrate the kick-off of the NRV Livability Initiative!

August 11th 1-5pm (Facilitated Discussion), 5-8pm (Open House)

The Community Foundation is a proud partner of the NRV Livability Initiative, a three- year regional planning process to help citizens build a collective vision for our future funded with a $1 million grant from the Federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. It involves pulling together as a community to discuss not only what makes the NRV a great place to live, work and play, but also how we might better understand and plan for the challenges and opportunities that confront us now and in the future.  Far from “one-size-fits-all” planning process, the initiative aims to focus on the unique character and needs of each community within the region while also looking at how we can work together.

At the Kick-Off Summit you will have the opportunity to learn more about the NRV Livability Initiative and participate in a conversation about the strengths and challenges of the New River Valley Region. There will be a sequence of three facilitated exercises from 1- 5pm and an Open House from 5-8pm featuring local food and music.  For more information or to RSVP please visit www.nrvlivability.org.
