To enhance the quality of life in Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaski counties and the city of Radford by:

Serving the charitable interests of donors, and providing safe, secure, professional management of their charitable dollars;

Making creative, visionary, and sensitive grants to worthy individuals and organizations; especially those that address new, evolving needs in the community;

Devoting special emphasis to programs that enrich the spirit and life of our community in the fields of social services, education, community and civic affairs, arts and culture, health, libraries and museums, religion, the conservation and preservation of natural, historical and cultural resources; and by

Acting as a catalyst and convenor for leadership and community development.

Since the early work of the founders of The Community Foundation of the New River Valley the focus has been on building a better community, for now and for the future.

We are a grassroots organization on the constant lookout for opportunities to connect with our neighbors; to investigate their needs and find solutions; to envision grand projects and the means to bring them to life.

On a more personal level, we are servants for a greater cause, inspiring financial support with the goal of achieving social wealth for our community.

Our staff and board are known throughout the community for their active engagement in convening community to address emerging issues and to grow an active local leadership that truly serves our community.
