Our Mission
Our first board, 1994.
The mission of the Community Foundation of the New River Valley is to enrich our community by providing professional management services to donors for their charitable causes, awarding visionary grants and scholarships, and nurturing collaborations in our community.
Achieving Excellence...
Since the early work of the founders of the Community Foundation of the New River Valley the focus has been on building a better community, for now and for the future. Our values of transparency, sound financial stewardship, and leadership in service to community are a critical part of our interaction with organizations, donors and our broader region. We are a publicly supported, nonprofit organization classified as a 501c3 by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). All gifts to the Community Foundation are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
The CFNRV is confirmed in compliance with the Council on Foundation's National Standards for Community Foundations, a prestigious designation demonstrating excellence in philanthropic practice.
